'The Big Picture' series

My final project for the course I did in Italy! Titled 'The Big Picture', the series narrates a specific experience that I had during my time in Florence.

Paintings of Florence

I was in Italy this past month and it was an amazing experience! The majority of my stay with my school was at Florence and I was able to paint there every once in a while. Here are two sketches that I worked on while there.

infograph assignment

An infograph done of rainbow maki (which I ate afterwards!). I was pretty proud of this one, haha

A Decade Later...

This was a watercolour assignment for my mixed medias class where we had to draw our assigned portrait in a different era and age. I decided that my subject was a musician who became a cellist and still plays after retiring (and his eye sight slowly getting worse).

Map Assignment

final piece

I forgot to upload this, but during my first semester, one of my assignments was to explore Oakville and London and find landmarks. The criteria for the landmarks had to be something where you could see a relationship between manmade objects and nature. Everything was drawn by memory, so many of the routes are kind of wonky haha.

Secret Santa 2012

Hope everyone had a great end of the year as well as a fantastic start of the year! It's a month late, but I thought I'd upload what I drew for my secret santas 8)

The people in my 1st year program decided to have a secret santa event so I joined in too. My secret santa requested something either fantasy or zombie related. I tried drawing zombies first, but halfway through the sketching I got kind of disturbed by the idea of them (and their faces) and decided to do a fantasy piece instead, haha. xP

My friends and I back at home decided to start a secret santa tradition and this year was our second one! I ended up getting one of my closest friends and decided to draw a portrait of her and her cornish rex. I was in a hurry and didn't manage to get a picture of it finished, but here's a wip that I snapped while inking it!

Sheridan BAA Illustration 2012 Portfolio

Hello, my name's Eungang Joan Lee (or just Joan Lee)! I'm a first year student studying Illustration in Sheridan College and I dabble mostly in traditional media. I do enjoy digital art just as much though and will definitely be showing them as well! Anyway, I thought putting up my portfolio would be a good start for this blog, so here it is! There's quite a lot so I put the images under 'read more'. Click it to see my portfolio. 8)
